Here's a mobile headset that I recommend. I had a pair of these when I was using an iPhone. I still actually have them lying around somewhere. The sound quality is pretty amazing and the microphone is pretty responsive. My complaints are that it was difficult to get them into my ear sometimes and there is no "pick up" button on the microphone. All-in-all, a great pair of headphones but it's not perfect.

Lately, it's been bugging me that my To-Do list in iCal isn't synced with iCal on the iPhone. ARGHHHHH!

This is pretty unsurprising. John Hodgman, whose claim to fame is portraying "PC" on the Mac ads was spotted recently on a New York subway using an iPhone. It's good to see that he's such a company man. He probably has the Mac commercials that he's in on his iPhone as well!

This is a crazy deal all right. Earthscape is a problem that is available for the iPhone that brings Google Earth for these devices. I've only downloaded free applications onto my iPhone so far and when I heard about this, I was all over it. So far, so good. I had to stop playing with it because my battery is dying but I'll get to play with it a little more when I get home and plug it in!
Again, I repeat, get this application. It's amazing! Google Earth on your iPhone is amazing and now it's FREE!

iPhone Stylus
You can thank the Japanese for creating this stylus for iPhone users who have trouble controlling the touchscreen or just have really long finger nails. The stylus has a flexible tip that mimics a finger's ability to control objects on the screen. Also included is a Sim Eject Tool. ThinkGeek offers both silver and black styli for $14.99, imported from Japan.
Verdict: Great little tool for a good price. However, I don't have any problem with the touch screen. If you do, you definitely need to pick one up!
There has been a heated discussion recently about the iPhone App "Iamrich" which costs a whopping $999 and does nothing too mind blowing. Critics ridicule the 8 people that actually purchased this application, while those 8 people simply want them to stop hating on their benjamins. You can argue on both sides of course. However, Apple took it on their own hands and pulled the application out of the store. You know what? This could be a collectible now!

Personally, I don't need a $999 app to tell me this. It's not my money, so I'm not hating.
This morning, the iPhone Dev Team finally released Pwnage Tool 2.0.2 which jailbreaks/unlocks iPhone firmware 2.0.1. I remember the hours I consumed downgrading my firmware from 2.0 to 1.1.4 and then finally upgrading to 2.0 when Pwnage 2.0 was released a month ago. After I got back from the beach and heard about Bernie Mac's passing, I decided to take the plunge and Pwn my iPhone 2G to 2.0.1.
Instead of downloading the actual Pwnage Tool 2.0.2, I just downloaded the custom firmware that has already been patched and proceeded to run a restore in DFU mode (very important). After 15 minutes, voila! The App Store, Cydia and Installer Beta 4 were now living in harmony.
The only problems I ran into was that the mail application stopped working. It was a quick fix, though. Go to Cydia and download BossPrefs and fix DIR Permissions and you should be good to go. Also, I had to restore my backup three times before it finally stuck. It was so weird. It took so long for one backup to be restored, and I painstakingly had to do it three times. If that happens to you, just complete a backup restore once, and unplug it. Plug it in again and if it prompts you to restore a backup, click set up for a new iPhone. That should solve that problem.
I didn't really notice any significant improvements with this firmware yet. I guess we're all really waiting for 2.1 to come out which is in developer's beta. Apple really needs to get their act together.

Finally. There you have it. Thanks to the iPhone Dev Team for making Pwnage 2.0. It took a while all right. It took me 4 hours to get it unlocked to 1.1.4, but luckily it only took me 2 hours to get it to 2.0. Yes, yes, I know Pwnage makes this a simple process that shouldn't take too long but with all the errors I got I had to spend a lot of time reading about it in order to fix it. There, that's my justification.
So far, so good. I love the iPhone!

Sigh, I'm such a fiend for electronics. I'm pretty sure it runs in my family. In feeding my addiction for shiny electronics, I got my hands on a Archos 605 Wifi and an Apple iPhone 2G. Oh, the mighty Archos. I've never heard of this PMP before but my co-workers opened my eyes to it. It's a much better media player than any of Apple's offerings and it is a very underrated iPod killer.
Yes, before you start, I am well aware that the iPhone 3G is out. To you, I say this. Go stand in line for a day and sign that contract dumbass! The new iPhone's improvements lay in it's new 2.0 software which I will have on mine soon enough. Think of it like an old car with a newer engine, runs just as good as the current market cars! Now, AT&T have extended selling refurbished iPhones on their website. I'm guessing it won't get any easier buying these things. There is also a rule that individuals buying the refurbished iPhone will need to activate their contract then and there (online), instead of the usual iTunes activation. AT&T and Apple are reeling after the number of unlocked iPhones have spiked since it was released last summer. They are not helping themselves by making consumers jump through hoops like this. Well done Steve, you really like shooting yourself in the foot.
If you are lucky enough to get your hands on a refurbished iPhone, what can I tell you? It's one hell of a deal. Stick to Steve and go unlock your iPhone :). Maybe then he'll realize that an unlocked iPhone is really a smarter way to go.

That just peed me off. I mean, how can they just do that? You're paying for it, aren't you? Then shouldn't you be able to do whatever the hell you want with it? I'm planning on buying an iPhone (and unlock it of course!) but if I'm going to be subjected to this, then maybe I might just buy it on Ebay for convenience sake.
I also read somewhere that unlocked iPhones cost Apple $300 million in losses. Well, that's the price you pay for using a closed network and a sleuth of angry unlock-happy programmers on your ass. You can't just do that anymore. You make the product, and we do whatever we want with it in order for it to suit our needs. Here's a solution. I bet if Apple made the an AT&T version as well as an unlocked version of the iPhone, then they wouldn't be hemorrhaging losses in excess of millions. After speaking to a few unlocked iPhone owners myself, they all agreed that they would pay a little more for an unlocked version of the iPhone sans getting the AT&T version and unlocking it themselves.
Oh well, I'm just glad the SDK came out so third party applications will now be made available on the iPhone. I'm probably going to wait a while before purchasing one. Who knows, it could be legally unlocked a year from now.
Oh, the Apple store has refurbished iPhones (8 Gb) for $349. Not a sweet deal, but if you plan on unlocking it, then it is :)
