Talk about the subprime meltdown, I won't be surprised if the airline industry is on the brink of a meltdown as well. My girlfriend's airline officially stopped service to our town and her ticket to New York over the summer was null faster than George Bush's receding hairline. Sigh.
Here's a funny, but possible look into the future of airlines.

How stupid do you think we are, Best Buy? I'm pretty sure we can insert (safely or otherwise) into our XBOX360s! Sheesh!

Hey Folks! Mario Kart for the Wii is finally arriving on April 27. What's with Nintendo releasing smash hits on a Sunday? They must be taking advantage of the fact that it's a "Day of God" or "Rest Day" and really want their gamers to be playing their games all day Sunday!
Well, here are a few place you can pre-order from. It's not that much savings but it'll save you a trip to your local games store!
Mario Kart (Wii) with Racing Wheel
Costco Price $44.99, $4.98 shipping
Newegg Price $46.99, free 3 day shipping
TigerDirect Price $45.99, shipping unavailable
Gosh, everybody loves the Wii. It's like the little kid at the party that can do tricks. Of course it's minuscule (in almost every way) to it's bigger PS3 or XBOX360 cousins, but it does the job nicely from a lot of folk. Me, included!
Since it was released, getting your hands on a Wii was like getting a photo of Tom Cruise picking his nose. Really, it was that hard. EBayers and resellers reveled in the fact that Wiis were a hot item and often jacked up the prices for prospective Wii buyers.
Luckily for you, I found a place that had some in stock. Toys 'R Us looks like they have some in stock but have cut off online sales (within the past hour no less) so people lucky enough to have Toys 'R Us in their neighborhood can go pick one up. It's a good deal with the standard Wii console package and Super Smash Brothers bundled in.
You might also try your local Best Buy or Gamestop and see if they have any units in stock. This is definitely going to be running out very soon
Nintendo Wii Console and Super Smash Brothers Brawl Bundle
Toys 'R Us Price $299.98, in store pick up only
Gosh. I've known and been using Nokia phones for a while now. It's pretty much a mainstay back home in Asia and boy have they taken off since I left in January '07. The N series in particular has redefined the Nokia brand. Running on the Symbian OS, the N series is a very capable smartphone for many users of different functionalities. When I was shopping for a new phone last year, the N series phones were definite candidates. In the end I settled with a Nokia E61. Well, for those who need a mighty N series phone, check these out!

I'm too busy right now to post anything substantial but here's something that I've enjoyed whilst taking a break from all the work I've been doing. Ain't it the darndest thing?
This a fricking hilarious picture. You just have to see it. I'm definitely not shopping at a store where they're just a bunch of thieves! Ha!
Moral of this story? NO DEAL!

Here are some pictures floating around the internet about Nokia's "Tube" project, which aims to be an iPhone Killer. It looks good so far and hopefully runs on Symbian OS, which is a solid mobile OS. The pictures also indicate stylus support which would please haters of the stylus-less touchscreen keyboard. This is interesting. I've been wanting an iPhone for a while but if there's a worthy Nokia touchscreen phone then that might sway my decision. We'll see. I'm glad I put off buying an iPhone. Now there's even talk of the 3G iPhone. Ooohwee! This is getting interesting!
Here's a nice little startup that allows you to compare various wireless plans through various carriers such as T-Mobile and Verizon. It bases it's recommendations on how many minutes you use, other features and how much you pay currently in the area you live in. It's neat with major carriers but not for smaller ones which can offer good pricing on service.
I'm using Cellular One (formerly Chinook Wireless) in Missoula, Montana right now and I have a smashing deal paying $30 a month. Cellular One is growing in Missoula and has some very competitive rates. This website will ignore companies like this in favor of big carriers. So, there is my word of caution. I don't really know how accurate all their information is as well.
On the whole, it's a good little source of information to base your decision on. I would recommend going to the provider yourself and verifying these prices. Who knows, even the big wigs could have an unbelievable deal!
Here's a deal on a pair of decent Wii Games. "SEGA Superstars Tennis" and "Mario and Sonic at the Olympics" are both average sports games for the Wii. Good games are really at a premium on the Wii. One indication is the price. Really good games stay at $49.99 and the worse they are the selling price would also drop accordingly.
Don't get me wrong. There are some above average games that have certain fun elements or certain parts of the game that could be fun or appeal to certain types of people. Personally, when my roommate and I buy games for the Wii, we want the WHOLE game to be awesome. So, games that drop way below the retail price is usually not worth our time.
Anyways, here are two games that have received average reviews that might appeal to some of you.
SEGA Superstars Tennis

Mario and Sonic at the Olympics

Sigh. The beautiful iPod. Where will college kids around the world be without one of these? iPods and the white wires that dangle from a listener's ears have been a cultural icon of the 21st century. Last year, Apple dazzled the world when it introduced the 6th generation of iPod, known as the iPod Classic. The first generation iPod was 5Gb. It's come a long way since then. The iPod classic maxes out at a whopping 160Gb!
I wanted to snag one of these but I recently got my 5.5G replaced and extended my 1 year warranty. So, it's another year for me before I upgrade to a Classic, or better yet, an iPod touch. Who knows how crazy cool they'll be in a year!
Newegg is one of my favorite online gadget shops. This deal is for a Black 160Gb iPod Classic for $309, plus $5.99 in shipping. It's a good deal because it retails for $349.99. This deal is good till April 30.

Sheesh. Looks like David "Mr. LA Galaxy" Beckham got a little gift from his England teammates for reaching his 100th cap as an English football (excuse me, soccer) player. He was gifted with a one of kind gilded 32Gb iPod Touch. It even has a ceremonial engraving on it. It is reported that the gold iPod Touch set the England team back £600 ($1,188).
Why can't us normal folk get hooked up with one of those, huh?

Here's a neat little deal from Tigerdirect. It's a 4Gb PNY flash disk for only $14.99 plus $7.49 in shipping. I can't really vouch for PNY but their products I've come across have performed quite well. On the plus side, this is 4Gb of storage. That's huge!
These things are getting so darn cheap nowadays. My mouth is watering for a 250 Gb WD portable hard drive. My friend Emi got one over the weekend and Best Buy had it in White! Ok, that has nothing to do with this deal! :)

You better get there quick because it's going to run out! There are also big "Limited Time Offer" signs and that doesn't come easy for Apple.
Hey folks! I hope none of you have been seriously had today! I feel for a joke one of my professors pulled on the whole class, but besides that I've been left alone. Here's an April Fool's joke that stirred things up a little bit. Haha.
There have been quite a few April fools jokes. The biggest one today was when the iPhone Dev Team sold out and ceased working on the long awaited Pwnage tool that is going to set iPhones free all around the world. PSYCH! A lot of people definitely held their breath on that one! Phew.
Well here's to April Fools Day!
