I forgot to mention that the new aluminum MacBook made it's way to our office a few days after it was announced. I was really surprised at how small the box was compared the previous generation. I know, right? The laptop was really COLD right out of the box as well! The build seemed really solid like they claimed. I didn't really have time to go through it extensively but I liked the way it looked and it ran as smooth as any Mac would. They're packing 1067 Mhz DDR3 memory! Holy Cow. Enough talk. I'm not a big fan of rebates at all. I'm still waiting on a $30 rebate which will probably arrive when I turn 45. This, however, is a rare exception to that rule. Memory for the Mac is very hard to get because of it's price point. I'm pretty sure it's because of the not-so-public Apple Tax. I've never paid a lot of attention to the Kindle simply because I'm not an avid reader of any kind, but it came to my attention when I worked for Random House, Inc. this past summer. It looks like e-books and e-book readers are going to be the future of the publishing industry.
I've seen a few Kindles but never actually held one in my hand. At Random House, Inc. they were issuing Sony e-book readers to a couple of their employees. If the above is to be believed, then Kindle fans have something to look forward to!

In order to cut it's losses for now a legacy format, Amazon is doing what it does best - giving you what you think you want, for cheap. Today, they're hooking up HD-DVD owners with big discounts on several big name HD-DVDs. Damn! They've even got "Batman Begins" and "V for Vendetta" up in there.
