Megabus was selling a round trip ticket for like $90 (which disappeared the second time around I looked it up). The other carrier I looked up a price at was Greyhound. Oh, man. This is what I saw.
You are reading it right. A regular ticket was $170 and an advance purchase ticket was for $2! Honestly, I thought it was a computer glitch. I slept on it for a few days and called some people and told them what I saw. Most of them told me to buy it but I had my concerns about being billed differently because come on! How can it be $2? With gas prices so high? Seriously?
After a lot of thought, I finally bought the ticket. Hooray, a confirmation email arrived looking all legit. Most importantly, it claimed that I only got charged $2 for this transaction. Thank you Montana for not having sales tax! When I arrived in New York, I was anxious to get my hands on the hard copy ticket because that will be settle all my doubts.
I finally got to the Port Authority Bus Terminal and stood in line. I picked up my ticket and flipped it open. Hell yes! I got a ticket to Toronto from New York City and back for $2! For $2, this 11 hour bus ride doesn't seem all that bad now, does it? Check it out!
